by car:
From Milano take the SS36 (Milano – Lecco – Colico) and then take the road to Bormio (SS38). Once in Bormio take the road to Santa Caterina
From the Gavia Pass
From Valcamonica take the Aprica Pass
From Switzerland drive through Livigno or Tirano From Trentino Alto Adige drive through the Stelvio Pass.
by public transport:There is a reasonable frequent train service from Milano central station to Tirano, followed by a direct bus service to Bormio. Once in Bormio you can take a bus or a taxi to Santa Caterina.
If you come from Switzerland, you can reach Tirano on the Bernina Express.

Santa Caterina Valfurva lies in the Alta Valtellina region at 1738 msl. This mountain village – also known as “the last white paradise” is in the heart of the Stelvio National Park (listed as Italy's largest protected area and as one of the most important natural parks in Europe).
In Winter the highest ski lift takes you to 2900 msl. After reaching this altitude you can ski downhill on top-quality snow. Cross-country ski can be practiced on a 15 km track which will take you through coniferae woods and fairy-tale landscapes. Both beginners and athletes can enjoy it!

In Summer you can walk on well signalled paths to reach unspoilt lakes and valleys and enjoy breaktaking views. During the excursions, both with an alpine guide or on your own, you will be able to admire vast woods, splendid flowers and numerous animals such as: deers, roes, bouquetins, chamoises, marmots, stoats, squirrels. Eagles, bearded vultures and many other smaller birds can be spotted in out valleys.

Cycle and mountain bike lovers can enjoy cycling to some famous alpine passes such as Gavia and Stelvio. Numerous are the itineraries and signalled paths for mountain bikes.

Bormio – 13 km away – is a mountain village rich in history and traditions. With its 3 Spas (Bormio Terme, Bagni Vecchi and Bagni Nuovi) and its fresh mountain air, Bormio is the ideal destination for a healthy and relaxing holiday. A visit to the town centre with its many historic buildings, the beautiful square, ancient alleys, bars, shops and restaurants is a real pleasure!

Livigno – 53 km away – is a well known tax free resort. In the numerous duty free shops you can buy high quality items at advantageous prices.
